09 July 2018 · 2 min read

Music and stage arts are part of the Dubliner culture as well as Irish culture in general. There are a couple of places where you can enjoy a drink while listening to poets, storytellers, musicians and singers. Feeling a bit talented yourself? Why not pop on stage for a small performance! Here is a list of places to go for an open Mic Nights in Dublin.

Whelan’s Song Cycle

Every Monday at 9pm the pub hosts the Singer Songwriter night “Song Cycle”. Located in the upstairs venue at 25 Wexford Street, Dublin 2, local and non-local are invited to experiment, sing and share their song. A delightful evening on an eclectic atmosphere ahead.

The Circle Sessions at the International Bar

A mix between regular performer and new talent this place is run by a performance collective of poets, musicians, comedians and other performance artists. No need for a mic for them, the audience is carefully listening and educated to appreciate all style and arts. Don’t be shy you can still perform on their small stage as an “impromptu” performer. Meetings are on Monday at 8pm. Check out their Facebook page for more info.
